Brighten is a Helsinki-based strategic marketing and communications consultancy founded in 2023 by Sanna Määttänen and Mona Berg, two colleagues turned friends. Our ambition is to bring clarity and focus to drive growth for innovative businesses at the forefront of change.
With our +30 years of experience in multiple fields, including analytics, strategy, marketing, communication, social media and content we support businesses all the way.

Sanna Määttänen
Co-founder, Senior Advisor
Sanna is a marketing and communications leader with extensive experience in working with B2B companies and brands. With both in-house and consulting experience, she has a proven track record of delivering successful marketing strategies, from creating insights to brand activation. She specializes in employer branding, social media and insights creation.
Before co-founding Brighten she was in charge of leading social media and activating the employer brand at a fast-growing healthcare company, Mehiläinen. During 2007-2020 she worked as a consultant in several agencies in different roles - partner, team lead, supervisor, head of analytics, senior advisor and project manager.
Her educational background is in sociology, communications and marketing.
Mona Berg
Co-founder, Senior Advisor
Mona brings +15 years of experience in digital marketing and communications to drive growth. With a background in both consulting and in-house positions in Helsinki and London, her expertise encompasses strategy, concept development, and content creation, with a focus on demand generation and thought leadership building.
Prior to co-founding Brighten, Mona led the marketing of digital technologies at VTT, one of Europe’s leading research institutions. She has consulted major Nordic B2B brands at several agencies. As a former journalist, quality content has always been at the heart of Mona’s work!
